Our Sacramental Preparation program is designed as a faith formation journey for the kids of both St. James and St. John.
Through catechesis (typically in the 2nd grade), youth wishing to receive our Lord in Holy Communion for the first time become prepared. Additionally, during this faith formation journey, youth will prepare and receive their First Holy Reconciliation.
For your child to receive their First Communion, he or she must be enrolled either in our CRE Faith Formation program or at St. John Catholic School.

Preparation for Confirmation will be completed and will be held in the third grade instead of during high school.
Parishes in the Diocese will begin transitioning to this over the next five years.
This change was discerned based on the work of the Diocesan Confirmation Commission which included priests, deacons, catechetical leaders, parents, and diocesan staff reflecting the various parish and school dynamics of the diocese.
